About Total Art & Cultural Center
A PTCB-approved training institution in Palisades Park, New Jersey. For more than twenty years we have taught career training and art education side by side, in the same building, to the same community.
Our goal is a simple one.
To help students acquire professional skills, earn certification, and move into better career opportunities. That is the whole of it.
Total Art & Cultural Center began as an art school — a small studio teaching drawing and painting to children and adults. Over the years the same parents and students began asking about something else. They wanted to learn a computer. They wanted a steadier job. They did not know where to start.
So we opened computer training. Then we became a PTCB-approved provider and began teaching pharmacy technician certification. Today all three run under one roof. People arrive for different reasons, but they need the same things: a patient instructor, a language they can follow, and a course that actually leads somewhere.
A PTCB-approved education provider
The Certified Pharmacy Technician credential is a national certification recognized in every U.S. state. Our training program carries PTCB approval.
Recognized nationwide
Once you hold the CPhT credential you can work as a pharmacy technician anywhere in the United States. If you move, the certification moves with you.
Online for out-of-state students
Students living outside New Jersey and New York can take the same program online, with the same instructors and the same exam preparation.
Over twenty years of teaching
A generation of this community has learned here. It is not unusual for a parent who once brought a child to art class to enrol in the certification program years later.
Who is in the room
There is no single type of student. But there are patterns.
Adults changing direction
People coming from restaurants, retail, or salons who want work that is steadier and more predictable. Most arrive with no healthcare background at all.
Recent immigrants finding footing
Students who already have skill and experience but need a credential that is recognized here. When English is the obstacle, we explain again in Korean.
Seniors
Learning a computer for the first time, or picking up a brush after retirement. We do not rush, we repeat as often as needed, and questions are always welcome.
Students and portfolio candidates
From junior art classes through college portfolio preparation, with work shaped around the requirements of the schools each student is applying to.
A few things we do not compromise on.
There is no shortage of training programs. Here is where we differ.
- Classes stay small — the instructor knows where every student is.
- We explain again until it lands. There is no clock on a question.
- We teach to the exam, and also to what the job actually looks like.
- We help with résumés and job introductions after the course ends.
- English fluency is never allowed to become the barrier to learning.
